About Us Background Scientific Evidence that supports our work Board of Directors Leadership Council Careers Contact Us		About the Schwartz Center The Schwartz Center strengthens the patient-caregiver relationship by:   Promoting health care that values communication skills and interpersonal sensitivity;   Offering unique forums for caregivers to give and receive support from one another;   Increasing understanding of how patients define empathic care; and   Providing opportunities for patients and health care professionals to share their experiences within the health care system. The Kenneth B. Schwartz Center is an autonomous, nonprofit organization operating under the 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status of the Massachusetts General Hospital. Its separate Board of Directors has complete discretion over the Center's budget. The Schwartz Center relies on tax-deductible charitable contributions from foundations, corporations and individuals to carry out its work.
