Randi Kaplan, LMSW, 2016 National Compassionate Caregiver of the Year Award Recipient

midpageannouncement-1-5-17-1Anyone can submit a nomination. To nominate a healthcare professional or team for the 2017 National Compassionate Caregiver of the Year (NCCY) Award, please complete the online nomination form with the following information:

  • Your name and contact information
  • The name and contact information for the individual or team
  • A nomination letter (500-word minimum) highlighting why this individual or team exemplifies compassionate care

You will have an opportunity to save your work and return to it at a later time before you submit.

After your nomination has been submitted, the Schwartz Center will notify your individual or team nominee and ask that they submit additional materials in order to be considered for the NCCY Award. These materials include the nominee’s personal/team statement and up to four additional letters of support.

All nominations must be received by March 31, 2017 to be considered.

All nominees will be contacted midsummer with notice of their nomination status.

 

Selection Process

The recipient and five finalists will be chosen by a national review committee, which includes past award recipients, in collaboration with representatives from the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association and American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. They will be recognized at the Annual Kenneth B. Schwartz Compassionate Healthcare Dinner on Nov. 16, 2017 in Boston. The recipient will have an opportunity to share their perspective on compassion in healthcare.
