Celebrating Extraordinary Acts of Compassion

How to Nominate

2021 Status

Nominations are currently closed for 2021. 2021 award recipients will be notified in fall 2021. We will open the next nomination process in early 2022.

Nomination Process

Anyone can submit a nomination. Please see our Award criteria before you start. To nominate a healthcare professional or team for the National Compassionate Caregivers of the Year (NCCY)® Award, you will need to complete an online nomination form with the following information:

  • Your name and contact information
  • The name and contact information for the individual or team you are nominating
  • A nomination letter highlighting why this individual or team exemplifies compassionate care

You will have an opportunity to save your work and return to it at a later time before you submit. However, we can’t accept additional or changed materials once you have submitted. Please note that nominations are not anonymous.

After your nomination has been submitted, we will notify your individual or team nominee and ask that they submit additional materials in order to be considered for the NCCY Award. These materials include a personal/team statement and other optional supplementary materials.

Selection Process

Up to six recipients will be chosen. Selection is made by a national review committee, which includes past award recipients, healthcare providers, and other volunteers. They will be recognized at the virtual Annual Kenneth B. Schwartz Compassionate Healthcare Dinner on November 4, 2021.
