This is the premier healthcare event in Massachusetts. Dinner guests include 2,000 leaders from hospitals, health plans and health-related associations, as well as members of the biotech, pharmaceutical and medical device industries. There is also a growing corporate presence, with leaders from banking, real estate and law.

The dinner consistently attracts CEOs and senior leaders who come not only to support the Schwartz Center’s mission of promoting compassionate care, but also for the networking opportunities it provides, while helping the Schwartz Center raise funds for its programs.

Award-winning author Atul Gawande, MD, MPH was the honored speaker at the 20th Annual Kenneth B. Schwartz Compassionate Healthcare Dinner on November 18, 2015 in Boston. He also presented the inaugural National Compassionate Caregiver of the Year (NCCY) Award. Dr. Gawande is the Executive Director of Ariadne Labs, a joint center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. He is the author of four best-selling books (Complications, Better, The Checklist Manifesto and Being Mortal). His work has illuminated the difficult choices caregivers, patients and families face every day and the system issues that can impede the delivery of high quality, cost-effective and compassionate healthcare.
