The goal of the Stanzler Open Doors Fund is to advance the mission of the Schwartz Center by creating access to the Schwartz Rounds^® program for financially constrained healthcare organizations serving under-resourced and/or marginalized communities in the U.S.

To be considered for funding, healthcare organizations must meet the criteria described here.

The Stanzler Open Doors Fund was created to advance the mission of the Schwartz Center by creating access to the Schwartz Rounds program for financially constrained healthcare organizations serving under-resourced and/or marginalized communities in the U.S. Specifically, this fund provides to organizations that serve one or more of these communities characterized by:

• Historically marginalized populations, such as BIPOC and LGBTQ+
• Geographically remote areas where acute care facilities are limited
• A significant proportion of Medicaid-eligible patients and families

Currently we are only accepting applications for organizations in the U.S.

Recognizing the investment of staff resources at recipient organizations, Stanzler Open Doors funding covers the cost of Schwartz Rounds training, onboarding and ongoing support for the life of the funding cycle.

Recipients may reapply for renewed support every two years thereafter.

Recognizing the investment of staff resources at recipient organizations, Stanzler Open Doors Fund provides program support for three years during the initial award period.

Recipients may reapply for renewed support every two years thereafter.

Each recipient organization is required to sign a Schwartz Center agreement and Stanzler Open Doors Fund addendum prior training and onboarding.

Applicants can expect to hear from the Schwartz Center regarding their status in October 2026.

Awarded applicants will have two weeks to accept and return required forms identifying an agreement signatory and Schwartz Rounds Leadership Team to move forward.

Recipients are eligible to apply for renewal following the initial 3-year funding cycle and every two years thereafter. Renewals are not guaranteed and are conditional on meeting renewal criteria at the end of each funding cycle.

Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria outlined above. Recipients are selected by an application review committee.

Recipients agree to have a Schwartz Center staff person virtually observe and provide feedback for one Schwartz Rounds session within the first year of program implementation and every year thereafter.

Recipients must also commit to collecting and submitting session and attendee summary data after each Schwartz Rounds session.
