We are thrilled to be offering two programs for Schwartz Rounds program leaders, hosted by Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital at the Seaport Conference Center in Redwood City, CA.

Introduction to Schwartz Rounds (NEW!)

Monday, March 16, 2020

During this session we will:

  • Introduce new Facilitators to the Schwartz Center and Schwartz Rounds
  • Foster understanding of Schwartz Rounds team roles and responsibilities
  • Review the fundamentals of Schwartz Rounds facilitation
  • Discuss recommendations and ideas for choosing cases and topics for Schwartz Rounds discussion
  • Explore Schwartz Center resources available to Schwartz Rounds program leaders

This session will run from 12:00 to 4:00 pm EST.

Note: Due to high demand and the format of our workshops, Day 1 will be capped at the first 30 registered participants.

 

Schwartz Rounds Facilitation Workshop

Tuesday, March 17, 2020

During this session we will:

  • Explore the neuroscience basis for compassion and why compassionate care is good not just for patients and families, but for caregivers too
  • Participate in a Schwartz Rounds session led Schwartz Center CMO and expert facilitator Beth Lown, MD
  • Further develop the ability to recognize and model the qualities and skills of a successful Schwartz Rounds facilitator
  • Share and co-construct solutions to common Schwartz Rounds challenges
  • Connect with compassion leaders from across the Schwartz Center member community

This session will run from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm EST.

Note: Due to high demand and the format of our workshops, Day 2 will be capped at the first 50 registered participants.

As a healthcare membership benefit, we offer Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Education Unit (CME & CEU) credits for our Facilitation Workshops. Continuing education credits will be provided at no additional cost to members. Cancellation requests must be received by March 10 for paid registrations; no refunds will be processed after that time.

Schwartz Center healthcare membership includes two free seats per Facilitation Workshop, additional participants may attend for a fee.
