Celebrating Extraordinary Acts of Compassion

How to Nominate

Nomination Process

Anyone can submit a nomination. Please see our Award criteria before you start. To nominate a healthcare professional for the National Compassionate Caregivers of the Year (NCCY)® Award, you will need to complete an online nomination form with the following information:

  • Your name and contact information
  • The name and contact information for the individual you are nominating
  • A nomination letter highlighting why this individual exemplifies compassionate care

We strongly suggest that you save your nomination letter in a Word or Google doc in case there are technical issues during the submission process.

We can’t accept additional or changed materials once you have submitted. Please note that nominations are not anonymous.

After your nomination has been submitted, we will notify your nominee and ask that they submit additional materials in order to be considered for the NCCY Award. These materials include a personal statement and other optional supplementary materials.

Selection Process

Up to five recipients will be chosen. Selections are made by a national review committee, which includes past award recipients, healthcare providers, and other volunteers. Recipients will be recognized at the Annual Kenneth B. Schwartz Compassionate Healthcare Dinner in fall 2024.

Nominations are now closed for 2024.
