A. Paige Volk, MD Medical Director, Children’s Medical Center Plano PICU Chief of Intensive Care and Inpatient Services, Children’s Medical Center Plano Dr. Paige Volk is the medical director for the Children’s Medical Center Plano PICU and the chief of intensive care and inpatient services at Children’s Medical Center Plano. She completed medical school at the University of Iowa in 2000, and remained at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for her pediatric residency and pediatric critical care fellowship. For the first 10 years of her career, she practiced at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital (now famous for the wave if you’re a college football fan). In 2015, she was recruited by Dr. Jessica Moreland, the division director of pediatric critical care at The University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, to become the medical director for the PICU at the Children’s Health Plano campus. She is also the physician leader for the Children’s Medical Center Plano Schwartz Rounds. In 2018, Dr. Volk was honored with a nomination for the Schwartz Center’s National Compassionate Caregiver of the Year Award.
