Amanda Kennedy, MA, MA, MSW, LISW, is a clinical social work program coordinator at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She has a professional background in community engagement and program management and development. In her current role she leads Connecting Families, a hospital-wide mentoring support program for parents and patients. The program has approximately 100 active trained volunteers and has matched almost 700 families with mentors in the past six years. Kennedy is also the lead hospital social worker for international patients traveling to Columbus for assessments, treatment, and participation in clinical trials, and she serves as a supervisor to social workers in several ambulatory clinics at the hospital. Prior to her role at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Kennedy served in research program management, advising, and teaching roles at the Ohio State University, where she received Master’s Degrees in Sociology, Social Work, and Public Policy and Leadership.
