Helena Roderick, PhD, is a clinical psychologist for Northwell Health in Long Island, N.Y. In 2018, Roderick joined the interdisciplinary teams at Northwell Health’s Center for Transgender Care, Center for Young Adult, Adolescent, and Pediatric HIV, and division of medical genetics. Previously, Roderick worked for 15 years at a school-based health center run by Northwell Health’s division of adolescent medicine. Roderick received a doctorate in clinical psychology at the University at Albany and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital’s Westchester Division. Roderick’s areas of expertise include providing evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral treatment for anxiety and depression.  Roderick’s interest in providing compassionate healthcare to individuals who identify as transgender and gender nonbinary stems from many years of working with adolescents who were at risk of being marginalized by society, and helping these youth enhance their resiliency, find their voice, and demonstrate empowerment.
